Information

Camille Lescarbeau is an ecofeminist artist-craftswoman. She lives in Montreal.

She holds a master's degree in visual and media arts from UQAM and a bachelor's degree in visual arts from Concordia University. Her training continued during residencies at Zocalo (Longueuil, CA), NES Artist Residency (Skagaströnd, Iceland) and Créer des Ponts (Montréal, CA). Recent exhibitions include La matière se souviendra at Galerie POPOP, Lentement le temps at Galerie perchée, Empêcher les feuilles de tomber et les fleurs de faner at Galerie AVE, En matière d'espace at Galerie FOFA and Artch.

It is through a practice of handmade paper made from residual materials that she develops her research around time, materiality and care. She regularly shares her research by taking part in round-table discussions, artist talks and course presentations, and by giving introductory workshops on handmade paper.

Camille Lescarbeau has co-founded UQAM’s handmade paper studio.
